PRACTICAL GUIDE

What this tool does

HTML describes the structure of a page: headings, links, forms and sections. This editor helps organize a messy document, inspect nested blocks and prepare a more compact copy. Formatting improves readability; minification works on markup; cleaning lets you make targeted changes without replacing the original file.

How to use it

  1. Paste the document or import an .html file. You can use a complete page or a fragment.
  2. Choose Format to inspect the structure. Select two or four spaces, or tabs.
  3. Use Clean to remove trailing spaces and blank lines, or Minify to compact markup.
  4. Review both columns. Copy or download the result and test it in your page.

Recommendations before downloading

  • Keep comments that contain team instructions, compatibility conditions or license notices.
  • Whitespace between inline elements can separate words. Removing inter-tag whitespace is an explicit option that may change layout.
  • The contents of pre and textarea blocks are preserved. HTML minification also preserves embedded scripts and styles.

Frequently asked questions

Does formatting fix a broken website?

No. It organizes presentation and may report errors found by the parser, but it does not check links, accessibility, SEO or browser behavior.

Should I minify my working file?

Keep a readable source version and use a compact copy for distribution. If you already have a build process, let that process handle minification.
